  • Do you accept insurance?

No. I do not accept insurance. I am an out of network provider. This means that my client directly pay for their services.

In an effort to be an “insurance friendly” provider, I have a partnership with Mentaya which helps clients to streamline the process of submitting superbills to their provider for potential reimbursement of services. Some insurance companies will provide reimbursement for partial or full payment of services.

  • How does your partnership with Mentaya work?

Mentaya provides a service that streamlines getting reimbursed for therapy sessions through out-of-network benefits.

Here's how it works: Sign up for Mentaya to see what their benefits are. You will pay for services directly to Cultivated Story. Cultivated Story confirm the service provided with Mentaya. Mentaya then takes care of submitting the claim, handling insurance follow-up. There is a 5% fee per claim from Mentaya. They guarantee claims are successfully submitted, or a full refund of their fees.

  • What is a superbill?

A superbill contains all of the required by insurance companies including the type of service, length of service, and a diagnosis.

    Insurance companies require a diagnosis.

  • Why do you not accept insurance?

I prefer to tailor my services to the specific needs of my clients.

Insurance often impacts the length of services, frequency of sessions, and/or the type of services that are covered. For example, insurance companies often do not cover relational therapy.

  • Who do you work with?

    All are welcome.

As an MFT, I am strongly committed to the AAMFT’s core value to support, promote, and protect diversity, to value all individuals and groups as free from prejudice and oppression as possible, and to foster a climate where equity and mutual respect are intrinsic. I am LGBTQ affirming and believe that black and brown voices not only matter but add value.

  • Do you have a sliding scale?

Yes, I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots.

  • Do you offer teletherapy or in person sessions?

I offer both! Some of my clients even meet in hybrid format including both in person and telehealth appointments.

  • Do you see clients who live outside of Kansas?

Since my office is very near to the Missouri border, I do have clients who live in Missouri. However, they travel to Kansas for services. Since my license is in Kansas, my clients must be in that state during the time of the service.

  • What are your hours?

I see clients on Monday- Thursday from 9-3.

  • How often do you meet with clients?

My clients begin by meeting weekly. Once we begin to see some progress, we often adjust our meeting frequency. One reason why I meet this often is because I want for you to make progress and ultimately fire me in the end. Although, I will be sad to say farewell.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

I have a 24 hr cancellation policy. If you do not cancel your session with 24 hrs notice, you will be charged the full amount.

You are more than your moments of pain.
